Socrates Social Research University honoured 90 individuals with the International Karmasheel Award 2025 and honorary doctorates for excellence in fields like education, health, environment, and social service.

New Delhi: In a prestigious ceremony held at CD Deshmukh Auditorium, India International Centre, Socrates Social Research University (Honoris Causa) conferred the “International Karmasheel Award 2025” and honorary doctorate degrees upon 90 distinguished personalities from across India and abroad.

The recipients were recognised for their significant contributions in fields such as education, literature, spirituality, environmental conservation, social service, sports, medicine, Ayurveda, and journalism.

The grand felicitation event witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries as chief guests, including Major General (Retd.) PK Sehgal, Defence Affairs Expert; Shri Dinesh Mohan Sharma, Former Superintendent, Central Bureau of Investigation; Dr. Nahar Singh, Former Joint Director, ACRT; Prof. Shakti Singh of Jawaharlal Nehru University; Dr. Rahul Khare, Head of Orthopaedics, RML Hospital; Dr. Dinesh Bansal, President, Harit Pran Trust; and Prof. Manoj Kumar Kain of Delhi University’s PGDAV College.

Chairman of the university, Shri Kumar Yogesh, warmly welcomed all attendees, presenting the dignitaries with floral bouquets, insignias, ceremonial stoles (ang vastra), and garlands as a gesture of respect and honour. He also shared insights into the university’s mission and congratulated the awardees for their dedication to societal development. The event’s program introduction was presented by Namita Jain.

Addressing the gathering, Maj. Gen. PK Sehgal highlighted the nation’s strong security posture, referencing “Operation Sindoor,” and affirmed that India is now safeguarded on all fronts. He also emphasized the country’s growing global stature in defence matters.

Shri Dinesh Mohan Sharma inspired the audience with a message focused on integrity and simplicity. He stressed the importance of curbing excessive desires, noting that unchecked ambition often leads to corruption.

Dr. Nahar Singh extended his congratulations to the awardees, while Prof. Shakti Singh underlined India’s rapid economic development, attributing it to collective efforts and national progress.

In the field of health, Dr. Rahul Khare raised concerns over rising orthopedic issues among youth and advocated regular yoga practice and a balanced diet for overall well-being. Dr. Dinesh Bansal, reflecting on environmental concerns, urged everyone to plant at least one tree in their lifetime and encouraged eco-friendly practices such as gifting plants instead of material items.

Speaking on social values, Prof. Manoj Kumar Kain emphasized the urgent need to preserve human values in today’s society. He asserted that the erosion of these values often gives rise to social evils, and upholding them is crucial for building a developed India.

Among the 90 recipients of the International Karmasheel Award were names such as Ajit Kumar, Anchal Jain, Amrita Behera, Darshini Priya, Aashia Parveen, Sohanbir Kain, Avinash Kumar Tyagi, Kirti Sharma, Neera Pandey, Kartar Singh Pawar, Kalpana Singh, Savita Devi, Pradeep Kumar, Sunita Jangra, Nishu, Ajay Verma, Jyoti Taliyan, Sarika Srivastava, DP Prajapati, and Pawan Kumar.

The event also drew the presence of more than 300 eminent intellectuals and professionals from Vietnam, Australia, Nepal, the Philippines, the United States, and approximately 20 Indian states, symbolizing the global and pan-Indian recognition of the award ceremony.

Additionally, distinguished guests such as Shri Surjeet Kumar, National President of Shri Guru Ravidas Vishwa Mahapeeth; Prof. Hansraj; Dr. Ghanshyam Das; Saurabh Kumar; Dr. Ranveer Singh; Rajesh Rohilla; PK Verma; and Mahendra Gupta were also part of the gathering.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Kumar Yogesh, who acknowledged the contributions of all dignitaries and participants, ensuring the event’s success through meticulous coordination and heartfelt hospitality. The program served as a tribute to individuals who have shown exceptional dedication to their fields and have become symbols of selfless service and inspiration.
