The Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, has appealed to the public to generously support the Armed Forces Flag Day (AFFD) Fund. He stated, “it is our collective responsibility to ensure the welfare of our serving and retired soldiers as well as their families” highlighting that it is a shared duty of the nation to look after the well-being of both active and retired soldiers, along with their families.
Shri Rajnath Singh also pointed out the significance of corporate social responsibility, urging businesses to donate to the AFFD Fund and offer job opportunities to ex-servicemen. He introduced a new website for the AFFD Fund, simplifying the process for citizens to donate and support the welfare of soldiers.
Minister Rajnath Singh characterized the day as a chance for citizens to acknowledge the bravery, sacrifices, and commitment of soldiers. He commended the Armed Forces for serving as a robust security barrier, safeguarding the country from external dangers and natural calamities.
The Defense Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to the care of ex-servicemen, noting that all possible measures are being taken to address the needs of veterans and their families. He encouraged the public to contribute generously to the AFFD Fund, stressing that their donations could significantly impact the lives of soldiers and their loved ones.
