Out of 181 people, 179 have been killed in the Jeju Air plane crash at Muana airport in South Korea on Sunday. The Jeju Air flight was returning from the Thai capital Bangkok and was scheduled to land at around 9 am at the airport.

The flight was carrying 175 passengers and six crew on board. While landing the plane first skidded on the runway, slammed into the concrete fence, and then caught fire. 179 deaths have been confirmed while two flight attendants were rescued and are reported to have recovered.

The Prime Minister of Thailand, Ing Shin expressed condolences to the families of the victims. She posted on X, “I would like to express my condolences to the families of the deceased and injured.” She also urged to contact the families of Thai passengers about the progress and allow the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to report the situation.

The South Korean government has declared a national mourning period till January 4, 2025, to mourn the death of those who have perished in the plane crash.
