Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the 61st raising day celebrations of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Siliguri. During his visit, Shah commented on the significant role of SSB in curbing smuggling and trafficking along the India – Nepal- Bhutan borders.
Amit Shah revealed that the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has made significant strides in combating smuggling and trafficking this year. The SSB has successfully arrested over 4,000 smugglers and traffickers, while also seizing a substantial 16,000 kg of narcotics.
These impressive numbers demonstrate the SSB’s unwavering commitment to securing India’s borders and protecting its citizens from the scourge of smuggling and trafficking. The SSB’s efforts have not only disrupted the operations of smuggling syndicates but have also helped to prevent the flow of illicit goods into the country.
In addition to its anti-smuggling efforts, the SSB has also been working tirelessly to prevent human trafficking. The force has rescued 301 victims, including 231 girls, and arrested 183 human traffickers.
The SSB’s achievements are a testament to the government’s resolve to strengthen border security and combat transnational crime. As Union Home Minister Amit Shah noted, the SSB’s efforts have made a significant impact in protecting India’s borders and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
