The regional office of Uttar Pradesh Tourism department received an email threat to blow up Taj Mahal today turns out to be hoax. The email was immediately forwarded to Agra police who did the further investigation.
Bomb disposal squad, dog squad among other teams searched the area and did not find anything suspicious according a security official at Taj Mahal. Hoax threats has been on a surge in the country since 2022 with airlines receiving most of the threats like around 1000 threat in 2024 alone.
October 2024 witnessed the most number of threats with tally going to more than 660. This raises a serious concern at the security and requires immediate attention.
