Tesla Launches Experience Centre in Delhi’s Aerocity

US electric vehicle giant Tesla has taken another step to strengthen its presence in the Indian market with the launch of a brand-new experience centre in Delhi’s Aerocity. Located at Worldmark 3, this is Tesla’s second experience hub in India, following the recent opening in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. The Delhi centre officially opened its doors on Monday, August 11, at 2 pm, as announced earlier on Tesla’s official X handle.

The move comes less than a month after Tesla’s formal entry into the Indian automobile market with its midsize electric SUV, the Model Y, priced from ₹60 lakhs. This launch marks a significant moment in the EV adoption journey in India, as the company looks to attract premium buyers and promote sustainable mobility.

A Premium EV Experience for Indian Customers

The newly launched Tesla Delhi Aerocity Experience Centre offers visitors an opportunity to explore Tesla’s cutting-edge electric vehicle technology and get hands-on experience with the brand’s first model in India — the Tesla Model Y. The space is designed to allow potential customers to sit inside the cars, interact with Tesla advisors, and learn more about EV performance, battery technology, and Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) features.

With its strategic location in Aerocity, the centre aims to cater to Delhi NCR’s luxury automobile segment while creating a premium brand presence near the Indira Gandhi International Airport — a high-footfall area for both business and leisure travellers.

Tesla Model Y: Variants, Pricing, and Features

Tesla introduced the Model Y in India on July 15, 2025, as its only available model in the country for now. It is offered in two variants:

  • Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) – ₹60 lakhs

  • Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR RWD) – ₹68 lakhs

Both variants come with Tesla’s advanced safety features, minimalistic interiors, and eight exterior cameras, including a new front-facing camera to enhance its driver-assistance capabilities. Customers can also opt for the Full Self-Driving (FSD) package for an additional ₹6 lakhs.

Colour choices for the Model Y include Stealth Grey at no extra cost, while Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, Quicksilver, and Glacier Blue incur additional charges. The interior can be configured in either black or white themes.

Performance and Charging Capabilities

The Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive variant is especially notable for its impressive 622-kilometre range on a single charge, making it one of the highest-range EVs available in the Indian market. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, combining efficiency with performance.

Tesla’s supercharging network — still in its early stages in India — allows the Model Y to gain up to 267 kilometres of range in just 15 minutes of charging, setting a benchmark for fast-charging capabilities in the country’s growing EV landscape.

Deliveries and Availability

Currently, Tesla deliveries and registrations are limited to Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram, as listed on the company’s official portal. Customers in these regions can book the Model Y through Tesla’s India website. Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with final prices varying depending on state taxes.

Tesla’s phased rollout strategy reflects its focus on building the necessary infrastructure and service network before expanding to other Indian cities.

A Step Towards India’s EV Future

With the launch of the Delhi Aerocity Experience Centre, Tesla is reinforcing its commitment to the Indian EV market. Industry experts believe this move will not only boost consumer awareness about electric mobility but also push other premium carmakers to accelerate their own EV strategies in the country.

The opening aligns with the Indian government’s push for green transportation, with growing incentives for electric vehicle adoption and infrastructure development. As charging networks expand and import duties potentially ease in the future, Tesla could diversify its portfolio for India, bringing in more models and configurations.

For now, the Tesla Model Y stands as a flagship statement of innovation, performance, and sustainability — and the Delhi Aerocity Experience Centre is the perfect stage to showcase it.
