The Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien has said that PM Narendra Modi should give a statement in parliament on situation of Bangladesh.
Derek raised the issues in the Rajya Sabha , Quoting a rule 251 demanding PM Modi to come forward and address the issue stating concerns over the targeting of minorities particularly hindus in bangladesh.
However, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar disallowed the point of order , leading to TMC MPs protesting and sloganeering in the house.
While taking to reporters TMC memeber Sagarika Ghose emphasized the need for the prime minister to provide clarification on government plans to adress the issue in bangladesh.
The demand comes between the concerns over the safety of minorities in bangladesh which has been a point of debate in bangladesh since yunus took over charge in August.
However bangladesh has assured India that they will take action against the perpetrators of violence and secure the rights of minorities.
