Unlike billionaire tech CEO Elon Musk, US President-elect Donald Trump has expressed support for the H-1B visa program. Trump expressed his support for the program in an interview with the New York Post, highlighting its benefits for hiring qualified foreign workers, despite the opposition of some of his fans. Numerous H-1 B visas are on my properties. I have been a supporter of H-1B. I’ve made extensive use of it. “It’s a fantastic program,” Trump said.

Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has stated his support for the initiative. Companies are permitted to hire foreign experts in specific fields under this program. Originally from South Africa, Musk is a US citizen who formerly held an H-1B visa. This year, his business Tesla has obtained 724 H-1B visas, highlighting the program’s importance in the tech sector.

When far-right activists criticized Trump for using Indian American venture entrepreneur Sriram Krishnan as a fake adviser, the conversation became heated. Krishnan’s involvement may influence the administration’s immigration policies, according to critics. Musk addressed these worries on social media by pledging to support the H-1 B visa program and arguing for the distinction between legitimate and illegal immigration.

Steve Bannon, a key Trump friend, intensified the issue by accusing “big tech oligarchs” of favoring immigration laws that hurt American workers. But according to Musk and other executives, the H-1B program is meant to help the US IT industry deal with a serious skills shortage.
