A 30-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh, namely Badal Babu, has been arrested in Pakistan for illegally crossing the border to meet a woman he met on Facebook.

Babu had been in an online relationship with a 21-year-old woman, Sana Rani, from Punjab, Pakistan. The relationship spanned over two years when Babu decided to cross borders to meet Rani. When he arrived at Rani’s village, he was arrested by local authorities. However, Rani, on being inspected, denied any intentions of marrying Babu, stating she never wanted to tie a knot.

Babu’s family was in the dark about Babu’s whereabouts and thought he was working in a factory in Delhi. They were shocked to learn the truth and of his arrest through Pakistani news reports.

The family has approached the Ministry of External Affairs to bring their son back. “We are worried about our son’s safety and well-being,” said Babu’s parents. They urged the government to take immediate action to secure Babu’s release.

This incident shows the dangers of online relationships that cross international borders. It highlights the need to be careful and aware when connecting with others online. Babu’s situation is a reminder that these relationships can be complicated and have serious consequences.
