The US launched airstrikes against 75 ISIS targets in various regions in Syria a day after the rebel forces took control of the country. President-elect Donald Trump’s suggestion that Washington should “stay out of Syria”.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bombers, F-15E Strike Eagles, and A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft carried out dozens of airstrikes against Islamic State combatants, leaders, and camps in central Syria. A senior administration official informed reporters that the plane dropped roughly 140 missiles on over 75 militant group targets. The strikes were confirmed by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

Battle damage assessments are in progress, and there are no indications of civilian casualties
