Congress leader and wrestler turned politician Vinesh Phogat has urged people across the country to support the farmers’ protest at the Khanauri border in Haryana. The other congress leader also joined the protest at the border.

Phogat said that there is an emergency-like situation in the country. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal is risking his life for the others. She urged the people of Punjab Haryana and the whole country to participate in this protest.

Phogat described the situation as an emergency and urged the Prime Minister to show his involvement stating that he gave very big speeches in parliament, but this is the actual issue to come forward and solve this.

Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni emphasized their demands, including discussions with the central government. The Supreme Court has directed the union government and Punjab to provide Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal with proper medical aid.

Phogat also expressed her anger over the prolonged protest stating that it’s painful to watch citizens sitting on the streets for 200 days and not getting what they demand.

The protest has been going on for 308 days supported by people from various states including Haryana Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. The protestors have 12 demands including the implementation of minimum support price (MSP).

Phogat has been urging the government to listen to farmers demands and fulfill the promises made. Her support for the protest has boosted the farmer’s movement.
