Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar today informed the House that cash was recovered from the seat of Congress member, Abhishek Manu Singhvi in Rajya Sabha.

He informed that during the checking from seat number 222 allotted to Singhvi, 100 currencies note of Rs. 500 were found. He said that the matter was brought into his notice, and he has made sure that a serious probe will be carried out. He said carrying bundles of notes in the House is not appropriate, adding that he agrees there should be a serious investigation.

There was a uproar in the house, hearing this opposition had serious agitation. The Leader of Opposition (LoP) Mallikarjun Kharge, said the name should not have been disclosed until proper investigation was done.

Congress MP and advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi claimed that never in his life, he has carried even 500 notes in the house. He was surprised at this allegation. Stating the time routine in detail, it is bizarre that even on such issues politics is raised. Never in his life, heard of any such incidence. He further added that there are chances of wrong activity to malign the image. “Seats of MP can’t be carried home”, he added. He demanded for serious inquiry so, that there would be no suspicion left and the one who are culprit, should be grabbed.
