Police have come out with investigations that students were behind the fictitious bomb threats made against at least three Delhi schools in the last several days. The threats were allegedly orchestrated by the pupils to obtain a holiday. Police thoroughly inspected the school following the report of the email and determined that the threat was a hoax.

Venkateshwar Global School was one of the institutions targeted; the day after the unexplained explosion at the Rohini Prashant Vihar PVR Multiplex on November 28, the school received a threatening email. Police claimed that two siblings who were enrolled in the school sent emails requesting a postponement of the tests.

According to the officer, both children disclosed during counseling that they had gotten the idea from prior instances of bomb threats being made to schools. After warning their parents, they were permitted to leave. The reason for the hoax email was those students wanted to avoid exams due to lack of preparation.

Another police official said that pupils at two further schools in Paschim Vihar and Rohini wrote threatening emails. The students admitted that they got the idea and wanted the school to be shut. After counseling and alerting their parents, the students were permitted to leave in both cases.

Over the past 11 days, bomb threats have caused mayhem in over 100 Delhi schools. The fact that the emails were delivered using a virtual private network, or VPN, has made it difficult for the police to find the culprits.

Since, Delhi’s schools, hospitals, airports, and airline businesses have all been the target of more than fifty bomb threat emails. Police are yet to make any breakthroughs in these cases.
