Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his response to the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in the Lok Sabha budget session on Tuesday, took a jibe at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the Delhi assembly polls, which are scheduled for tomorrow.
PM Modi highlighted that the NDA government had used the money saved from scams to build the country, not to build a “Sheesh Mahal.” He further claimed that the central government had given ‘true development’ to the poor population of the country, not fake slogans.
PM Modi said, “Earlier the headlines of newspapers used to be scams worth so many lakhs.” He added, “Now 10 years have passed, and due to no scams, the country has saved lakhs of crores of rupees, which are being used in the service of the people.”
He further said, “We took various steps that resulted in saving lakhs and crores of rupees, but we did not use that money to build ‘Sheeshmahal’; we used that money to build the country.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said that the central government’s objective was to provide water connections to the people of the country, not the “Jacuzzis”, taking the dig at AAP over the toxic water row.
He said, “The NDA government’s objective was not on “jacuzzis” but on providing water connection to the people of India.”
He further elucidated that before the NDA’s tenure, 75 per cent people, or more than 16 crore households, did not have tap water connections. “Our government in five years gave 12 crore households tap water connection,” PM Modi said.
He also Targeted AAP and alleged that some political parties are like “AAP-da for the future of the youth in the country. “Some parties are fooling the youth. They make promises that they never fulfil, PM Modi said.
