‘Will Completely Eradicate Naxalism By March 2026’: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the killing of 31 Naxalites in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, as a major success for security forces, bringing India closer to becoming Naxal-free, a goal he aims to achieve by March 31, 2026.

In a post on ‘X,’ the Union Home Minister stated that the security forces have accomplished a massive achievement in their efforts to make India Naxal-free, with 31 Naxalites eradicated and a large number of weapons and explosives recovered in the operation. He also reiterated that “by March 31, 2026, we will completely eradicate Naxalism from the country, ensuring that no citizen has to lose their life because of it.”

Amit Shah said, “while eliminating anti-human Naxalism, we have lost two brave soldiers. The nation will always be indebted to these heroes.” He further extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers.

Reaffirming the commitment to eliminate the Naxalism, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, “The sacrifice of the soldiers will not go in vain. Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, our state will be free from Naxalism by March 2026. In this direction, the security forces are continuously achieving success and moving rapidly towards the goal. The end of Naxalism, which is like a cancer in the country and the state, is certain.”

He further added, “I pray to God for peace to the souls of the martyred soldiers and to provide strength to their bereaved families and for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.

In a significant success in eliminating Naxalism in Chhattisgarh, the security forces on Sunday in an operation eliminated 31 Naxalites in the forest area of Bijapur. The shoutout operation began on Sunday morning in the forest of the Indravati National Park in the Bijapur district.

A senior officer informed that two jawans also sacrificed their life during the encounter, while two others were hurt. The shooting took place when a joint team of personnel from different security forces was executed an anti-Naxalite operation.

Earlier 12 Naxalites were reported to be murdered. During the search operation, more bodies were found in the jungle area increasing the count to 31.
