President Joe Biden has issued a statement regarding the devastating incident in New Orleans, where a vehicle plowed into a crowd on Bourbon Street, killing 10 people and injuring at least 30 others. Biden expressed his condolences to the victims and their families, stating that his “heart goes out to the victims and their families who were simply trying to celebrate the holiday”.

The President confirmed that the FBI is taking the lead in the investigation and is treating the incident as an act of terrorism. He assured that he will continue to receive updates throughout the day and will provide further information as it becomes available.

Biden emphasized, “there is no justification for violence of any kind, and we will not tolerate any attack on any of our nation’s communities”. He also praised the brave and swift response of local law enforcement in preventing further harm.

The White House has been in touch with New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell to offer support and assistance. The FBI is working closely with local authorities to investigate the incident and ensure that there is no remaining threat.

The incident occurred during New Year’s Eve celebrations, and the city is still reeling from the shock. The Sugar Bowl, an annual college football game, is scheduled to take place in New Orleans later today, with increased security measures in place.
