‘World’s Worst Autocratic Regime’: CA Yunus Attacks Sheikh Hasina In ‘Victory Day’ Speech

In a scathing attack, the Chief Adviser of the Bangladesh Government Muhammad Yunus has labelled the Ousted Prime Minister “Sheikh Hasina” as the World’s Worst Autocratic Regime.  Yunus made these remarks after Hasina’s resignation and departure for India on August 5, 2024, amid widespread protest against her government.

According to the Novel Peace Prize winner Yunus, Hasina’s rule was stained by corruption, human rights violations, and authoritarianism. He has been criticizing Hasina’s government for a long time now and has pledged to restore democracy and stability in Bangladesh. Currently, his government is working on restoring democracy and stability in the country.

The government under Yunus has initiated several reforms like establishment of a new election commission and a truth and reconciliation commission. As the new elections are coming, Yunus’s Interim Government has promised to ensure free and fair elections, unlike the controversial polls and held under Hasina’s rule. The people of Bangladesh are looking forward to new elections which are to be held soon.
